Having your portrait can be difficult. I have witnessed many people freeze with the deer-in-the-headlights look. I myself am not quite sure to do with my face when a camera is pointed at it. Just recently, through extensive research with a mirror have I found my ‘good side’. Children can also have problems with the session: getting into comfortable clothes, having mommy or daddy fuss over them to not get dirty, then have some strange photographer point a big lens in their face and ask them to smile. Well, I want to change that. Let’s not schedule a photo session, but rather an activity that not only looks good but displays your personality and interests, while at the same time taking your mind of the camera! Hiking, having dinner, bowling, cooking together, and washing the car are examples of what I am talking about. What would be your activity? A child may enjoy putting together legos, a model airplane with his father, or just bangin pots and pans together like I did. The most important rule is that it needs to be fun! Now,….where are those pots and pans?!
