The moon WAS bigger!

Patrick Bertolino, Houston PhotographerMy good friend, John Hall, informed me that the moon was going to appear larger in the sky due to it’s proximity to the earth. Check THIS LINK for more info on that. Anyway, I thought it may be a great opportunity to photograph the moon coming up behind the downtown skyline – because from where I live, I see it rise from there many times a year… Well, I didn’t account that the moon will not always rise in the same place, so what you are looking at is my interpretation – enjoy.

That’s a cool image. Man, when I stepped outside the other night to look at the moon, it felt like I was going to bump my head on it. Later, when it was higher in the sky, I was able to see detailed craters with my binoculars, which is something I normally can not do with that pair.
