A friend in need

On the street near my home a young lady was trying to help a baby bird to a safe place. We gently gathered it into a box and took it to the Wild Life Center of Texas, a non-profit, donor-supported organization located on 7007 Katy Rd, Houston TX 77024. This place is amazing – they provide a sanctuary for injured and orphaned wild life. I encourage everyone to keep their phone number handy (713-861-9453) in case you ever run into an animal in need. The center itself is really interesting – there was a juvenile great horned owl, a red tail hawk, peregrine falcon and much more on site for you to get an up close view of. As a photographer – I tend to run into these situations a lot (see my blog about helping lost friends) so not only am I going to volunteer, I am keeping an empty box in my car for when ever this happens! Oh, and our new little lost friend is a Common Nighthawk – read more about him HERE
