Some photographers find product photography tedious. I find it FUN! How else would I get to arrange things in such specific shapes?! (by the way, had to turn the AC off so it would not blow the brushes out of place) Tedious?

I was asked by a client if I had any photos of Houston’s beautiful skyline laying around. Since I didn’t I suggested they check stock photography for their needs, or hire me! Well, after a day of what I expect was unsuccessful or out of budget searching, I got the call. Tree Installation at One Park Place

I photographed the installation of a bunch of huge palm trees onto the 8th floor of the new One Park Place Apartment building adjacent to Discovery Green. They had to build these monstrous cranes to hoist them up and block off 4 streets!

Hocus Pocus! These two images are actually the SAME image! This is what happens when you have to get a shot – against deadline – and someone has parked their car illegally in front of the building you need to showcase. I just wave my magic wand and voila! The car disappears!! This is Terry Stanfield’s new downtown office for Heritage Texas Properties.

It’s funny how much pretty places can look at twilight. Especially with some interesting lighting. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to pull this shoot off – there were what seemed like thousands of people there to ice skate…on a Monday. Discovery Green is a breath of fresh air in a concrete jungle. It’s a great start – I certainly hope there is more of that kind of city planning on the way….

Compass Bank and BBVA

Yet another example of what diversity can mean for me. I was hired to photograph the sign change for the merger between Compass Bank and BBVA Group. The big sign on the River Oaks Location is yet to come – I hear the letters are 16 feet tall!! I am so amazed at what each day brings me. I can definitely say I am in the right profession for me. This is my passion – I couldn’t imaging doing anything else – to tell you the truth, I probably wouldn’t be that good at something I’m not passionate about……Forest Ranger? I thought I was going to do that for a time. I bet I would be able to get some really cool Wildlife Photos….
